A note on sourcing. The list below is the working bibliography, grouped by the chapter where each source is primarily anchored, with the tier noted where it is not obvious from the citation itself. This list gives the short-form bibliography; the fuller primary-source treatment of each case is compiled separately. Dates and figures in a fast-moving field are stamped to mid-2026 and should be re-verified before publication.
